Nothing just happens, there are things that makes things to happen, for every action there will always be a reaction. This is also true when it comes to vision, when you have a vision there are things that it will do for you, vision will never leave you the way you are or where you are, the impacts vision will have on you are enormous, but below are 6 things vision will definitely do for you.
“Lack of vision limits people more than their inabilities”
— George Ifeanyi
1.VISION PROVOKES DECISION: The more you see where you are going, the more poised and consented you are willing to get there, you cannot see it clear and still remain there. In Genesis 13:14-18, the Bible said, “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the lord”. Abram would’ve remained where he was if not for what he saw. His decision to remove his tent and move was provoked and by the vision of the land which he saw. Austin Ayoosu in his book “THE POWER OF DECISION” said..,
“Everything in life starts and ends with decision”
— Austin Ayoosu
To be able to make such decisions vision must be in place, decision is only possible when vision is available, and the nature of the visions you embrace determines the structure of the decisions you make, the reason you are still where you are being because, you have not seen what you need to see, that should spur you to where you would be.
2.VISION ENHANCES MOTION: Nothing impends motion like the lack of vision, you can’t see it and not move swiftly to seize it. One of the major reasons why people move sluggishly in life is because of the lack of vision, you need to see where you are going clearly. The clearer you see where you are going the faster you will get there. In my previous post, “THE PLACE OF VISION” I said that vision is the secret behind a life of passion, it motivates people to go through life with force. Your speed will be accelerated if you are seeing where you are going clearly, conversely your speed will always be reduced when where you are going is not clear, concerning Abram in Genesis 12:9, the Bible said.., “And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south”. He enjoyed a steady and uninterrupted motion void of any obstruction, because he saw where he was going clearly.
3.VISION DETERMINES DIRECTION: There are many ways, but not all leads to where you want to go, there are many plans, patterns, and strategies, yet not all can produce the result you expect. There is a vivid direction that leads to the attainment of your goal. Vision-less people are directionless people, and directionless people can never be successful in life.
“Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction”
God told Abram to “walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it” this speaks about direction, a definite and specific way which God wanted him to go, where you see determines where you walk, confusion in life is as a result of the lack of direction. You must see where you want to go in order to get there.
4.VISION ESTABLISHES DESTINATION: He deceives himself who see’s failure, defeat and lack and expects to arrive at success, victory or abundance. In Genesis 12:5, we see an account of Abram’s departure and arrival “And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came”. You have to see where you are going to reach your destination. You cannot reach a destination you cannot see, show me what you are seeing and I will tell you where you will end.
5.VISION RECOGNIZES DISTRACTION: In life there are many distractions, they range from cheap opportunities, unhealthy comments, vision helps you to recognize them. Dr Paul Enenche said,
“Distraction is allowing what is not your intention to gain your attention”
— Dr Paul Enenche
Let me show you a pathetic story of the father of Abram Tarah in Genesis 11:31-32 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran”. The land of Canaan was his intention and destination, but when they came to Haran he stopped there, not only that he stopped there, he dwelt there and unfortunately died there, vision helps you recognize who, where, and what attraction is a distraction to you.
6.VISION STRENGTHENS CONCENTRATION: You need a strong concentration to get to your destination, the more you see where you are going or what you want in life, the more concentrated you will be.
“A slack in concentration is as a result of the lack vision”
— George Ifeanyi
“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, so shall thy seed be.” Abram’s walk with God was characterized with a massive volume of concentration because he was frequently brought to the place of vision.
