The place of vision in life can never be over emphasized, success in anything and everything in life begins with a vision, vision is one of the vital indispensable ingredients for success. Vision is the fuel that keeps some going when others may want to quit, it is the secret behind a life of passion, to live without vision is to live in confusion, there’s nothing that motivates people to go through life with force and voice like vision, it pulls people off their limits, and sets them off on course. Helen Keller an American author, a political activist, and a lecturer, born like every other child, with the ability to see and hear, but sadly at 19 months old, she contracted an illness that left her deaf and blind, yet she became the first deaf blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree, wrote a total of 12 published books and several articles, she made a profound statement from which one can clearly see the importance of vision, though she was deaf and blind, she had visions, and seriously pitted those who could see but lacked vision. She said…,
“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but has no vision”
— Helen Keller
Much has been said and written about vision, but what is vision? Vision is the mental picture of a desired or preferred future, it is seeing there from here before getting there, everyone needs a vision for his or her life, every leader should have a vision for their organization, their nation and for their family, nothing can replace or take the place of vision. Proverb 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”, without vision people perish, with vision they flourish. What does it mean to perish? it means, (1) To deteriorate, (2) To Suffer and waste, (3) To be limited, (4) To perform below capacity and (5) To depreciate
“The difference between those flourishing and those perishing is vision”

As we deal on this subject, let me draw your attention to Genesis 13:14-18, “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land, which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so, that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the lord”.
God was about to do something in the life of a man called Abram in the above scripture we just read, something that was to determine the destinies of posterity, something that was to transcend from time into eternity, something that was to be the foundation for generations yet to be born, the most frequent place God brought him to was the place of vision, a place where He made him see it before he seized it, a place where he could see it clear before he got there, a place where it was a picture before it became a capture. What he was to get was based on what he could see, if I may ask, what do you see? Can you see a bright future? a successful marriage? a glorious destiny? a blossom ministry? I don’t know where you are in life, marriage, destiny, ministry, career or in your finances, but no matter where you are now, you can start now, all you need to do is to envision it. Sam Adeyemi was just on point when he said
“God wants to get an imprint in your imagination first before he makes it a reality in your life”
— Sam Adeyemi
To actualize or realize it, you have to first visualize it, and until you perceive it, you won’t be able to conceive it, because your conception in life, is a direct product of your perception from life. God told Abram “from the place where thou art look”. Where you are now, is a raw material for God, and it is good enough for Him to take you to where you can envision yourself to be. Your present location, situation, position or possession is not a limitation, the limitation is your inability to see, and how far you can go in life is determined by how far you can see, with vision you can move from being a nonentity to become a known-entity, you need vision, to migrate from obscurity to limelight.
“The most assured way to participate in a future is to anticipate it”
— George Ifeanyi
Jeremiah 1:11-12 says, “Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it”. You have to be able to see it, and see it well for God to hasten His word to perform it, when you see it well, the power, wisdom and grace to fulfill it will be released, note! it was when God saw that the prophet has seen it well that He said “I will hasten my word to perform it”, if I may ask what do you see? go ahead and develop your vision because every vision will always attract its provision. Make up your mind today, to live your life by vision, stop living your life with the mentality of what’s going to be is going to be, and let whatever will be, be what you want.
